Overview

Flokia is a startup with a bold vision of simplifying everyday processes through innovative technology. I built its first public-facing landing page from the ground up, focusing on a clean, professional, and fast-loading experience that accurately conveys the brand's mission. The page serves as the primary digital touchpoint, effectively communicating the startup's goals while providing a clear path for visitor engagement through strategically placed calls-to-action and intuitive navigation.

The landing page was designed with conversion in mind. Every section — from the hero area to the feature highlights — guides visitors naturally toward learning more about Flokia's product. The structure emphasizes clarity: a concise value proposition, key benefits, and straightforward calls-to-action that reduce friction and encourage interaction.

Technology Stack

The core stack combines React.js for building reusable UI components, Next.js for server-side rendering and static site generation, and Tailwind CSS for rapid, utility-first styling. React.js allows a component-based architecture that keeps the code modular and maintainable, while Next.js ensures excellent SEO performance through pre-rendered pages. Tailwind CSS speeds up the styling process and keeps the design consistent across all screen sizes.

Beyond the main frameworks, I integrated responsive design principles to guarantee a seamless experience on mobile, tablet, and desktop. Performance optimisations — such as image lazy loading, code splitting, and the use of Next.js's built-in image optimisation — helped achieve fast loading times and a smooth user experience. Tools like ESLint and Prettier maintained code quality throughout development, and Git version control tracked every change.

Design & Development

The design follows a clean, modern aesthetic with a coherent colour palette and carefully chosen typography. I started with wireframes to map out the user journey and iterated on feedback before moving to implementation. Accessibility was a priority: semantic HTML5 elements, proper heading hierarchy, and ARIA attributes ensure the page is usable by everyone, including those relying on screen readers or keyboard navigation.

The development process emphasised performance from the start. I configured Next.js to generate static pages at build time, reducing server load and delivering near-instant page loads. The Tailwind CSS configuration was customised to match Flokia's brand colours, with a focus on consistency and scalability. The result is a page that loads quickly, is easy to maintain, and can be extended with new sections as the startup grows.

My Role & Ownership

As a shareholder in Flokia, I took full ownership of the frontend development from concept to deployment. This involved not only writing the code but also making strategic decisions about the tech stack, architecture, and deployment pipeline. I collaborated closely with the founding team to align the website's messaging with business goals, and I continue to maintain and improve the page based on analytics and user feedback.

This project showcases my ability to independently deliver a complete, production-ready landing page while balancing technical excellence with business needs. It demonstrates my experience with modern frontend tools and my capacity to take initiative within a startup environment.
